Wolf Deck



  • I am going to build myself a wolf deck and I still need some cards for it, but I would also like some impute from you guys considering majority of you seem to be beast mode at this game, this is what I was thinking:

    Creatures
    Huntmaster of the Fells x4 = 2gr (have 4)
    Immer Wolf x3 = 1gr (have 3)
    Daybreak Ranger x3 = 2g (have 3)
    Gatstaf Shepherd x4 = 1g (have 3)
    Reckless Waif x4 = r (have 3)
    Mayor of Avabruck x4 = 1g (have 4)
    Kruin Outlaw x3 = 1rr (have 3)
    Ulvenwald Tracker x3 = g (have 3)

    Spells:
    Moonmist x4 = 1g (have 4)
    Full Moon's Rise x3 = 1g (have 3)
    Garruk Relentless x2 = 1gg
    Domri Rade x2 = 1gr

    Land:
    Cavern of Souls x3
    Kessig Wolf Run x3 (have 2)
    Stomping Grounds x3
    Rootbound Crag x4
    Forest(zendikar full art) x4
    Mountain(zendikar full art) x4

  • That's only because you haven't played against mine, James :P



  • Put Young Wolf and/or Mondronen Shaman and/or Wolfbitten Captive and/or Pyreheart Wolf and/or Wolfir Silverheart in there somewhere.
    There's a lot of good wolf options, lol.
    You don't need 3x and 4x of each creature either since you're playing wolves.
    Also you're going to want a full set of Dual Lands.

    And 4 Caverns seems a little unnecessary. You're going to get games where your only lands in hand are going to be Cavern+Kessig meaning your spells will be impossible to cast early (turns 6+) and have to mulligan more hands.

    Lastly, Immerwolf and Huntmaster do not play nicely together. You want Huntmaster to flip all the time, not be stuck in Beast Mode all the time.



  • Running a couple, maybe three cavern would work.
    I don't know about young wolf, I'd run wolf bitten.

    A couple immerwolf is ok, you just have to be careful how you use him with huntmaster.
    Silverheart is amazing, especially with wolf run
    Definitely right about too much colourless.



  • ye i know i saw the huntmaster/immerwolf problem myself, thanks for the input i will collaborate that all in when i do the final piecing together of it.

  • If it were me, I'd run 2 Caverns and 2 Wolf Runs.
    The Mondronen Shaman is sideboardy or a 2 of.

    Young Wolf is probably worse than some number of Wolf-bitten captives, but I wouldn't want 4 Captives unless I was running the Green-mana producing werewolf. And I think I'd rather have a Young Wolf than a reckless waif.
